I loved finding all these little houses nestled in the woods
on the mountainside.

This morning, flowers cracked open
the earth’s brown shell. Spring
leaves spilled everywhere
though winter’s stern hand
could come down again at any moment
to break the delicate yolk
of a new bloom.
The crocus don’t see this as they chatter
beneath a cheerful petal of spring sky.
They ignore the air’s brisk arm
as they peer at their fresh stems, step
on the leftover fragments
of old leaves.
When the night wind twists them to pieces,
they will die like this: laughing,
tossing their brilliant heads
in the bitter air.

A Crucifix in the Von Trapp Family Cemetary
This woman died the year I was born
The famous Maria Von Trapp
and her husband, Georg
They were buried togethor. Most people don't know that
he was actually 25 years older than her.

o how cool that you got to go to their...place! lol...i always forget that they are, infact, REAL people! (or were) Anyway, i think that's really neat--I LOVE the movie "Sound of Music" anyway. the mountain pics are absolutely totally COOL! i love 'em!!!! and the Bible verses you put with them are even better. I also LOVED your art pics....very pretty. and the old books were awesome, but i REALLY loved the flowers. I know i keep saying "loved" but hey, why speak anything other than the truth? a very neat post--i LOVE it but i love you more!!
