1.22.09

Hey Guys,

I just found out about this website on believe it or not, Narniaweb! It's a website BarlowGirl created that is holding a 40-day fast against abortion got to www.neversilencelife.com to learn more about it. Other helpful websites are-

www.barlowgirl.org/nsl

www.therebelution.org/blog

www.40daysforlife.com

please take action against these horrible crimes that happen every day. Write a letter to president elect Obama, stand outside of a clinic, become part of a protest group, pray and fast, make your voice heard. On January 22, 2009, there will be a march for life in DC, please pray on that day, if no other, that a difference will be made. Every 22 seconds a baby dies...you can make a difference...for life.

Countdown to Christmas!

Hi Everyone,

Couple things to say. First- Prince Caspian was released on DVD and Blu-ray this past Tuesday!!

Make sure you pick up a copy this week! Also, there are 2 bonus discs for it that you can only get in Japan, Australia, and the UK. So if you live in any of those countries, you are extremely lucky!!!

Ok, second, Taylor Swift's holiday album is now available on iTunes. I really like her renditions of the traditional songs and the modern ones are nice. I give the album 4 stars, which is funny b/c I don't really like many of her other songs! BarlowGirl also has a christmas album that they released this past September.

Third, well this isn't much to tell but I wanted to reccomend some CD's so I made a list of my top ten favorite Christmas CD's (they are not in order).

1. Michael W. Smith ~ Christmastime

2. Avalon ~ Joy

3. Relient K ~ Deck the Halls, Bruise your Thumb

4. Various Artists ~ WOW Christmas, Green

5. Taylor Swift ~ The Taylor Swift Holiday Collection

6. Relient K ~ Let it Snow Baby, Let it Reindeer

7. BarlowGirl ~ Home for Christmas

8. Various Artists ~ WOW Christmas, Red

9. MercyMe ~ The Christmas Sessions

10. Michael W. Smith ~ It's a Wonderful Christmas

Now for my top five favorite Christmas movies (again, not in order).

1. It's a Wonderful Life

2. The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe

3. A Muppet's Christmas Carol

4. Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer

5. The Nativity Story

well, that's all for now, I'll post again soon!!!

Obama and Recycled Bracelets

Hello Everyone,

ok so Obama won but I don't want to think about that right now just remember to pray for our country and for him. Here's a good bit of political encouragement in light of Obama, though. Jasmine Baucham posted this on her blog.

But anyway, I found this cool website (correction-blog, lol:)) that uses recycled materials to make crafts. Look at this cool metal crochteted bracelet!

Well that's all for now! Goodnight!

Election Day!

Hey People!

It is election day and I wish I could vote.....well in another four years I'll be able to. Please keep out country in prayer- Obama was winning the polls and now it seems that he is winning the election as well! I am precupada (worried) as us spanish-speaking peeps say :P! I was praying something like this wouldn't happen. Right now Obama is leading in electoral votes with 175 compared to McCain's 55! May God have mercy on our country.

In Hope of a Godly Land,
Alissandra

P.S.
here is a link to a post my friend, Emma, wrote about halloween.

Happy Reformation Day!

Hey Folks,

today is the day that Martin Luther nailed the 95 theses on the Wittenburg church door! God gave us an opprotunity to celebrate something else on this worldly holiday. I've always wondered how people could celebrate death, pain, and evil and actually make a holiday to do so. How did man ever get so lowly? Well, I leave you to think about that as it is getting late, goodnight.

Think Pink!

Hi everyone!

October is breast cancer awareness month so I've changed my background to pink! Cute for now at any rate. Please make a commitment to pray every day of this month for women afflicted with this horrible disease. On another note, I'm really excited b/c in one week my friend Karissa is visiting from TN for eight days! I haven't seen her in 2 1/2 years! She moved to TN only four days before my youngest sister was born so she hasn't seen her or Noah yet! Well I have to go but next time I post it will probably be a picture post!!!

MY FIRST POST!

Hi everyone!

ok so this is my first post (finally!) and I'm really excited!!! Anyways, well there's not much to tell right now- my great-aunt just left, she was visiting here from Florida. We started school and boy is being a freshman hard! I'm taking a few classes outside of the home this year, including a home ec class, one for literature, and I just started an online PE class, so we'll see how that works out. The movie Fireproof from Sherwood Pictures is now in theatres and my parents went to go see it. Definately a good film but more for adults. Well, it's a bit late and I need to get to bed so goodnight all!
