Review for Desperate (single) by Fireflight

A new single from Fireflight's new CD (comes out on February 9th, same day as TobyMac's new one). This is a really great song about our desperation and complete need for God.

"I know You're my only hope
The only One who truly knows how it feels,
what it's like when it all starts to fall
You're the One I can trust who hears when I call
You've got me desperate (do You see me?)
Desperate (do You hear me?)
Desperate (will You help me?)
You've got me desperate."

A beautiful line in the song -

"Some things I'll never figure out
Until I let hope erase my doubt."

It's a great message about just completely surrendering everything (our lives, our hearts, our doubts, our cares, etc.) to God in desperation, knowing He'll save us. I hope this great song is a sign of a great album coming :D.

Review for Unbreakable by Fireflight

Those songs are the best ones on the album. The other ones aren't nearly as memorable. The only problem I had with the CD was that the songs seemed to run togethor. They sounded alike and I had problems getting in to the music and liking it. It just takes a few listens though. Once you get to know each song it becomes a more enjoyable experience :). I would necessarily reccomend buying the whole CD, since IMO about half of the songs aren't really worth the listen, but the songs I listed above are great so I do reccomend getting those off of iTunes or something :P.

Haiti

I know I'm posting this a little late, and that all of you I'm sure know of the catastrophic earthquake that took place in Haiti. I would just like to let you know that Gotee (a Christian music company) is donating 100% of their proceeds towards Haiti relief. I hope to be doing more music related posts soon. I want to focus a little more on this blog than I have been in the past. I also want to make it more musically-centered by doing more CD reviews, talking about upcoming music projects, and maybe posting some songs of my own :).
