Prayers for the Neesom Family

Hello All,

Yesterday something terribly sad happened- Irish-born actor, Liam Neeson, experienced death up close when his beloved wife, Natasha Richardson died. Natasha was skiing on a bunny hill during a private lesson when she tripped and tumbled down the hill. She was not wearing a helmet. She laughed off the fall but an hour later she complained of a headache and was rushed off to the hospital and within a few hours was pronounced "brain dead" and taken off life support. Please keep the actor's family in prayers, they have two sons together aged 12 and 11. This family must be going through some trying times and have only publicized the fact that they are shocked by the death and wish for privacy during this time of grieving. Soon Liam Neeson will be lending his voice to the Narnia series yet again in The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. Pray for the family and that this film goes as planned also.

St. Patty's Day and Red Envelope Day

Hey Everyone!

today is "ye olde" St. Patrick's Day!!! I love this day so much it's my fave holiday, after Christmas, July 4th, and Easter. I celebrate it with every drop of Irish blood in me (I'm 1/8 Irish, 3/8 Scottish, and 1/2 Nicaraguan- what a mix! ha ha). I made sure I slept with green pj's last night and I pinched my sisters all soundly b/c they didn't have green on today, lol. I love the story of St. Patrick, he was one of my heroes when I was younger. Here is a synopsis of his life from Wikipedia...

"Saint Patrick (c. 390 - 460)[2] (Latin: Patricius,[3] Irish: Naomh Pádraig) was a Roman Britain-born Christian missionary and is the patron saint of Ireland, along with Brigid of Kildare and Columba. He was educated at a monastery and school of divinity founded by Illtud (now Llantwit Major).

When he was about 16 he was captured by Irish raiders and taken from his native Wales as a slave to Ireland, where he lived for six years before escaping and returning to his family. After entering the Church, he later returned to Ireland as a missionary in the north and west of the island, but little is known about the places where he worked and no link can be made between Patrick and any church.

By the eighth century he had come to be revered as the patron saint of Ireland. The Irish monastery system evolved after the time of Patrick and the Irish church did not develop the diocesan model that Patrick and the other early missionaries had tried to establish.

The available body of evidence does not allow the dates of Patrick's life to be fixed with certainty, but it appears that he was active as a missionary in Ireland during the second half of the fifth century. Two letters from him survive, along with later hagiographies from the seventh century onwards. Many of these works cannot be taken as authentic traditions. Uncritical acceptance of the Annals of Ulster would imply that he lived from 340 to 460, and ministered in what is modern day northern Ireland from 428 onwards.

Saint Patrick's Day (17 March) is celebrated both in and outside of Ireland, as both a liturgical and non-liturgical holiday. Outside of Ireland, it can be a celebration of Ireland itself. In the universal Roman Catholic Church it is an optional memorial, though in the dioceses of Ireland it is a both a solemnity and a holy day of obligation."

And I need to bring up another important date, March 31. Yes this is another date to do with stopping abortion. And I will keep ranting on this subject until it is outlawed. On March 31, many people will be sending red, empty envelopes to the White House. Here are instructions on how to do this...

you can go to http://www.redenvelopeday.com/index.html for more information, you can even mail an envelope off the website. Please participate in this event, it shouldn't cost more than a dollar. Hopefully this will make a difference in the decisions our new president is making.

And I wanted to let ya'll know that I will probably not be posting for a little bit again, my sister is sick with the stomach bug yet again. So when we all get over it, I'll post.

In Christ,

Randomness (and sickness)

Hey Guys,

sorry I haven't posted in a while but we've been busy. We went to a lovely wedding this month, which unfortunately I don't have any pics from b/c we left our camera at home. But we have gone through three bouts of sickness this past month- colds, the stomach bug, and severe-er (ha ha) colds. So this is just a short update and I'll post some pics tomorrow since it will be Saturday so I should have some free time...hopefully!
